Trudy Reeves - "The reason I am in this business is to innovate - to do what I do best on a daily basis.

In practicing law, I prided myself in never simply telling a client that they couldn't do something. I always offered an alternative, a solution that perhaps accomplished his goal in a different way, and hopefully an improved way. In my business practice, I offer the same 'Let's make this work for you' approach.

I have studied business creativity for years from authors like Kenichi Ohmae, the great Japanese strategist for McKinsey & Company, who wrote The Mind of the Strategist, and Michael Michalko, the author of Thinkertoys, and Creativity in Business, by Michael Ray and Rochelle Myers, which was based on the Stanford University course. Thinking outside the box is my daily practice.

Developing complex plans that appear simple and workable is a welcome challenge for me. I describe the process as pouring all of the available information like sand into a funnel, allowing it to filter through my experience and intuition until it pops out of the bottom as a tiny, simple exquisite gem. Each gem is different, as unique as the situation and the client.

My vision is that for every business challenge there is at least one clear, workable solution. The key is to find the one that works well under the circumstances for everyone involved. When we find that solution, the client and I usually both know it. It feels simple, comfortable and doable. That to me is business innovation - finding unique solutions to complex problems. That's what I do best."
